Exchange of Best Practices in Non-Formal Education

Opening Ceremony of the Project "Exchange of Best Practices in Non-Formal Education," Study Visit in Tunisia

Under the supervision of the Governor of Nabeul, accompanied by the Regional Delegate for Youth and Sports, the opening ceremony took place on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the Youth Complex in Hammamet. This project, funded by the International Youth Office (BIJ) in Belgium and the Regional Youth Commission of Nabeul (Ministry of Youth and Sports, Tunisia), brought together a group of 30 participants from Francophone countries including Belgium, France, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Tunisia, Morocco, Lebanon, Egypt, and Armenia.

The objective was to discover and connect with successful initiatives, learn more about non-formal education and youth work in Tunisia, and exchange best practices in informal and non-formal education in the French language. Additionally, it aimed to strengthen cooperation and international partnerships among youth organizations from Francophone countries.

After welcoming the participants, the Governor of Nabeul expressed his sincere gratitude to the organizers, wishing them success in the various workshops scheduled throughout this international forum. Following this, Mr. Ali Inoubli, a secondary school teacher in Switzerland, gave a presentation on the history of Francophonie, accompanied by a musical interlude featuring traditional Tunisian music. Mr. Christian Saelens, the General Delegate of Wallonia-Brussels in Tunis, then introduced the role of the Wallonia-Brussels Delegation in Tunisia and provided insights into the International Youth Office (BIJ) Belgium and its efforts to promote and support youth projects.

The ceremony concluded with a beautiful musical performance by young Tunisian artist Yousef Daoud.
